WHAT ARE WE DOING TO SUPPORT ASTHMA AWARENESS WEEK?
SEPTEMBER 1-7, 2025
We appreciate all your support and hope to see you wearing purple and getting active this Asthma Awareness Week!!!
2.8 million Australians suffer from asthma; this week is about showing our support, raising awareness and pushing for a cure.
In Australia, Asthma Awareness Week is held annually, from September 1st to 7th. During this week, Asthma Australia and the National Asthma Council focus on raising awareness about asthma and promoting the importance of proper asthma management.
This year, the Zoe Kennedy Foundation has a range of events to support Asthma Awareness Week and help remember the life of Zoe.
We’re kicking off Asthma Awareness Week with a run/walk alongside @sunset.club_melbs. Join us in Brighton for a fun, social run/walk to get moving and start the week on a healthy & happy note. Moama SEMINAR - Asthma Awareness Week 2024
Last year’s Asthma & Hayfever Seminar in Moama brought together a local GP, pharmacist, and community members for an open and practical discussion about asthma. From understanding triggers and treatment options to hearing real-life stories of living with asthma, the night highlighted just how common this condition is and how the right management can be life-changing.
The collaborative approach between healthcare professionals and the Zoe Kennedy Foundation made it an inspiring and informative evening for all who attended.
1 in 9 Australians have asthma, one of the highest rates in the world.

New Partnership Regional with Asthma Educator, Sherri Barden
“In 2017, I became an asthma educator after one of my pharmacy customers, young, fit, teenage grandson died of asthma at a concert. Seeing her devastation gave me a deep passion to make a difference after seeing for so many years in pharmacy how poorly managed asthma can be in the community mostly through lack of education.
When I read Zoe's story and through knowing Sam and Georgie, it was so fitting to support your foundation not only in the retail pharmacy I work in but also with my new pharmacy consulting business APLUS pharmacy.”

Figurehead Tee off Against Asthma, $60K Raised
Figurehead Construction's annual golf tribute match, managed by Maxfield and the Zoe Kennedy Foundation, took place at the prestigious Moonah Links Golf Course and St Andrews Brewery. This year’s event was an outstanding success, completely selling out two courses with the enthusiastic support of Figurehead Construction's consultant and subcontractor network.
The Zoe Kennedy Foundation was established by Figurehead in 2020.
In June 2020, Zoe suffered an acute asthma attack and was rushed to hospital, where she was immediately placed on life-support. Four days later, the Kennedy family were devastated to learn that Zoe would not recover.
In partnership with Asthma Australia, Figurehead Group and the Kennedy family established the Zoe Kennedy Foundation. Through grants and PhD Scholarships, the foundation helps fund progressive research into asthma prevention, management and eradication, with a specific focus on the increased risk for teenagers—and in doing so, honours a young life cut short.
Today, over $500,000 has been raised to improve the lives of young people with Asthma.
