Half a Million Dollars Raised in Zoe's Name

Moonah Links, February 28, 2025 – The fourth annual Zoe Kennedy Cup has wrapped up, marking a significant milestone in the fight against asthma. More than just a day of golf, this year’s event saw the Zoe Kennedy Foundation (ZKF) surpass $500,000 raised since its inception, funding vital asthma research, education, and awareness initiatives.

The event, held once again at Moonah Links, brought together a dedicated community of subcontractors, suppliers, and corporate partners who have supported the foundation since day one.

A Legacy That Drives Change

The Zoe Kennedy Foundation was born from tragedy but has become a force for change. In 2020, Zoe Kennedy, a vibrant 13-year-old from Geelong, lost her life to a sudden asthma attack. Her father, Lach Kennedy, Figurehead Construction’s first employee, found himself surrounded by colleagues who refused to stand by. With the support of Figurehead founder Joe Grasso and the wider industry, the foundation was launched with a singular mission—to ensure no family endures the same loss.

Over the past four years, the Zoe Kennedy Cup has grown into one of Figurehead’s most anticipated annual events, combining sport, generosity, and a commitment to improving asthma outcomes.

Looking Ahead – The Fight Isn’t Over

Reaching $500,000 raised is a major milestone, but ZKF’s mission continues. Every dollar raised supports:

Life-saving research into asthma prevention and treatment
Education programs for schools, parents, and young people
Awareness initiatives to reduce asthma-related deaths

"We are beyond proud of what we’ve achieved, but we’re not stopping here," said Lach Kennedy. "Every event, every donation, and every conversation gets us closer to making asthma history."

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who teed off, donated, bid, or supported this year’s event. Your generosity is changing lives.
