zoe kennedy tribute match august 5, 2023

The second Zoe Kennedy Tribute Match is almost here!
📍Newtown & Chilwell Football Netball Club (Elderslie Reserve, 40 Read St)

We're excited to share that this year's Zoe Kennedy Tribute Match is shaping up to be even better than last year, as we continue our mission to improve the lives of young people with Asthma through awareness and research. A lover of sport, Zoe's netball team vs. dad's football team is a special day in the calendar, highlighting the risks of Asthma and management.

This year, we're distributing posters to local sporting clubs and stadiums, and selling ‘Inhale/Exhale’ beanies and scarves to generate funds and raise awareness for youth Asthma.

Another special addition in 2023 is an Art Auction with a custom piece by First Nations Artist Gerard Black, the digital artist of our 116 Rokeby artwork, who created "Wind Spirit With You" with Zoe's purple, depicting relationships and healthy connections between family and community.

Three years since Zoe's passing, the Zoe Kennedy Foundation has raised almost $300,000 which have funded a Virtual Care PHD and product trials for Puff-ah, an integrated, collapsible, smart inhaler system aiming to improve adherence to asthma medications.

Gerard Black is a proud Worimi man who has donated a special framed piece to auction at the 2023 Zoe Kennedy Tribute Match, which depicts the relationships and healthy connections between families and community.

It shows how when these relationships are nurtured and cared for, they have the ability to directly impact the health of everything around us.

This includes the water we drink: connected to our water country, the land in which we grow our trees and food: our connection to country, and the air we breathe: linked to our sky country.

Gerard grew up in Torquay and has a deep connection to Wadawurrung Country, where he has been nurtured and grown. He has been commissioned to create artworks for Rip Curl, Melbourne Water, First People VIC and painted the Geelong Cats boots for Sir Doug Nicholls round in 2023.
