Asthma Education Partner: APLus Pharmacy

It’s our pleasure to share an exciting business venture by a dear friend of the Zoe Kennedy Foundation, Sherri Barden BPharm, FANZCAP (CommPharm/Resp) MPS.

Sherri Barden has been a fantastic advocate for the foundation, serving as an asthma educator and pharmacist at Moama Pharmacy. Sherri has actively engaged in our mission since, contributing to both raising awareness and fundraising efforts for the foundation (you' can count on Moama Pharmacy to be sporting ZKF’s iconic asthma posters).

Specialising in respiratory medicine and asthma, in 2023 Sherri embarked on a new venture, offering consulting services to pharmacies across Australia through her APLUS Pharmacy consulting business. Through virtual and face-to-face interactions, she enhances their expertise in asthma and hayfever management, conducts clinics within their pharmacies, and instructs on establishing their own clinics. Her emphasis lies in proficient medication delivery, adherence, and education pertaining to these conditions as well as an intercollaborative team care approach to best patient outcomes with GP's, Respiratory Physicians and other health care professionals.

In December, Sherri reached out to convey her eagerness to support the foundation through APLUS Pharmacy.

“In 2017, I became an asthma educator after one of my pharmacy customers, young, fit, teenage grandson died of asthma at a concert. Seeing her devastation gave me a deep passion to make a difference after seeing for so many years in pharmacy how poorly managed asthma can be in the community mostly through lack of education.

When I read Zoe's story and through knowing Sam and Georgie, it was so fitting to support your foundation not only in the retail pharmacy I work in but also with my new pharmacy consulting business APLUS pharmacy.”

- Sherri Barden, APLus Pharmacy Education

With this, our partnership is established, and we eagerly anticipate mutually supporting each other on the journey toward achieving our goals.

A big ZKF congratulations Sherri on your new venture, we look forward to sharing your important education to improve the lives of people with Asthma.
